What is the 6-month passport rule?

Many countries only let you in if your passport is still valid for 6 months after you arrive or leave, and airlines check it before you board. So a passport with 4 months left can already stop a trip. The app shows "Renew now" when a passport has less than 6 months left, and the Travel check tells you whether each passport is good for your dates. Check the rules of the country you are going to.

When does the reminder start?

By default 9 months before a passport expires (so the new one comes before the last 6 months), 3 months for a visa, residence or work permit, 2 months for an ID card or driving licence, and 1 month for insurance and car papers. Change it with Start renewing for each document.

My card only shows a month and year. What do I choose?

Choose "Only month and year are printed". A card that says 03/2028 counts as valid until 31 March 2028.

I have applied for a new one. What do I tap?

Tap Applied for renewal so it moves to "Waiting for the new one". When the new document arrives, tap Renewed and type the new expiry date. The old date is kept under "Earlier".

How do the calendar reminders work?

Calendar on a document, or Add all reminders to my calendar, saves a calendar file. Open it to add all-day events to your phone's or computer's calendar: one on the day to start renewing, and one on the expiry day with a reminder a week before.

Is it private? Does it work offline?

Your documents stay in this browser on this device: no account, and your data is never sent anywhere. Document numbers are hidden until you tap Show number. Use Save a backup file to move the list to a new phone. Once loaded, the app works with no connection.
