Grocery Price Book for Comparing Shops
Note what your groceries cost at each shop, and see where each item is cheapest, whether the price in front of you is a good one, and whether a sale is really cheaper.
This browser is not letting the app save. What you type will be lost when you close the page. Save a backup file before you leave.
Add an item
Add the things you buy often. Each item gets its own box where you note its price at each shop.
Packs of different sizes are compared by this price, so a 5 L tin and a 1 L bottle are fair to compare.
Where to buy what
The shop with the cheapest price you have noted for each item.

How it works
- Add the things you buy often, such as cooking oil (compared per litre) or rice (per kg).
- Note the price whenever you see it: the shop, the price and the pack size, such as 2,690 for 5 L at Metro.
- In the shop, type the price in front of you. The app says at once if another shop was cheaper, and whether a sale is really cheaper than the usual price.
- Before you go shopping, open Where to buy what to see which shop is cheapest for each item.
Questions
How does it compare a 5 litre tin with a 1 litre bottle?
Every price is turned into a price per kg, litre, item or dozen. For example 2,690 for 5 L is 538 per litre and 595 for 1 L is 595 per litre, so the 5 L tin is cheaper even though it costs more at the till. Pack sizes in g and kg, ml and L, oz and lb are all converted.
Which price counts when a shop has several?
The newest one: the latest date, or the one typed last on the same day. Older prices stay in All prices, and the box shows how much the price went up or down since the one before.
How do I know if a sale is real?
Tick This is a sale or special offer when you type the price. The app compares it with the last price at the same shop that was not a sale, for example "The sale is real: 3.5% less than the usual price at Imtiaz", or tells you the "sale" is not cheaper at all.
What about "buy 2" deals and multipacks?
Tap + Multipack or "buy 2" deal and type how many packs the price is for. "2 bottles of 1.5 L for 500" is 166.67 per litre.
Prices change all the time. Is an old price still useful?
It still counts, but a price older than 3 months is marked may have changed, so you know to check it again.
Is it private? Does it work offline?
Everything stays in this browser on this device: no account, and your data is never sent anywhere. Once loaded, the app works with no connection, even in a shop with no signal. Save a backup file now and then, or before changing phones.
