Questions

How much is 20 an hour a year?

At 40 hours a week for 52 weeks it is 41,600 a year (20 × 40 × 52), or about 3,466.67 a month, before tax. If some days off are unpaid, add them under + Add holidays and unpaid days off and the year goes down.

What is the difference between paid holiday and unpaid days off?

Unpaid days off lower your yearly pay, for example 20 unpaid days on an hourly job. Paid holiday (including public holidays) does not lower your pay, but you work fewer hours for the same money, so you earn more per hour you actually work.

Why is the week times 52 not the same as the year?

The week is a normal week you work. The year takes off any unpaid days and counts overtime only in the weeks you are at work. With no time off and no overtime, the week times 52 is exactly the year.

What does "per hour you actually work" mean?

Your yearly pay divided by the hours you are really at work in a year, after holidays and with overtime. It is the fairest way to compare a salary with an hourly job.

Does it include tax?

No. All amounts are before tax and other deductions, so you can compare offers the same way in any country.
