Questions

What is net worth?

Everything you own (money in the bank, savings, investments, pension, what your home and car would sell for) minus everything you owe (mortgage, loans, credit cards). If you own 23,280.20 and owe 7,355.60, your net worth is 15,924.60. It can be below zero, for example just after a student loan, and that is common.

How often should I update it?

Once a month is plenty, for example on payday or the first of the month. Open the app, change the balances that moved, and that is it: the others stay as they were last time. Skipped a month? No problem, the change is counted from your last update.

I forgot to update last month. Can I add it now?

Yes. Pick that date in Balances on and type the balances. The update slots in between the others.

What value do I put for my house or car?

Roughly what it would sell for today. Do not change it every month unless you have a reason; a fair guess once or twice a year is fine. Put the mortgage or car loan in What I owe as its own account.

I paid off a loan or closed an account. Should I delete it?

No, set its balance to 0. Deleting an account removes it from every past update too, which changes your history. Delete only an account you added by mistake.

Is it private?

Yes. No account and no bank login. Your balances stay in this browser on this device and the app works offline once it has loaded. Use Save backup file to keep a copy or move to another device.
