Questions
How often should I water my plant?
It depends on the plant, the pot, the light and the season. Start with the number on the plant's label or a care guide, then push a finger into the soil before you water: if the top 2 to 3 cm (about an inch) are still damp, wait. Tap Still wet and the app asks again tomorrow. If you keep tapping it, choose a longer number with Edit.
I watered it early, or forgot for a few days. What happens?
Tap Watered on the day you water. The next date always counts from that day: a plant watered every 7 days and watered on Sunday is next due the following Sunday, whether it was early or late. Watered on another day? Tap Edit and change "Last watered".
Why is there a winter setting?
Most houseplants grow slowly in autumn and winter, with less light, so the soil stays wet longer and too much water rots the roots. Give a plant a winter number with + Water less in winter?, then switch the season at the top to "Autumn and winter". You choose when: seasons are different in each half of the world, and a warm flat may need no change at all.
How does the plant-sitter list work?
Choose the first and the last day you are away. If you water every plant the day before you leave, each plant's days count from that day. Otherwise each plant keeps its own days. The list shows each day with the plants to water, the plants that need nothing, and your notes such as "water from below". Copy it into a message, email it or print it.
Will it remind me?
A web page cannot ring by itself when it is closed, so use Add to my calendar under "Daily reminder to check the plants": your calendar then reminds you every day at the time you choose, and the app shows what needs water.
Is it private? Does it work offline?
Your plants stay in this browser on this device: no account, and your data is never sent anywhere. Use Save a backup file to move them to a new phone. Once loaded, the app works with no connection.
