    Questions

Why are my mosque's times a few minutes different?

Mosques often add a few minutes for safety, or follow a different method. Pick the method used in your country under Calculation method, then use Adjust minutes to match your mosque. Each saved place keeps its own settings.

    Which method should I choose?

The app picks the usual one for the country you search: Karachi for Pakistan, India and Bangladesh; Umm al-Qura for Saudi Arabia; ISNA for the USA and Canada; Muslim World League for most other places. The methods differ mainly in how dark the sky must be for Fajr and Isha.

    Hanafi or standard Asr?

Standard Asr (Shafi'i, Maliki, Hanbali) starts when a shadow is as long as the object plus its noon shadow. Hanafi Asr starts when it is twice as long, usually 40 to 80 minutes later. Most people in Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and Afghanistan follow Hanafi.

When does Sehri end and when is Iftar?

Sehri (suhoor) ends at Fajr and Iftar is at Maghrib. Many people stop eating a few minutes before Fajr to be safe.

How do I use the Qibla direction without a compass?

The angle is measured clockwise from true north. Face north, then turn right by that many degrees. On a phone, Use phone compass turns the dial so the arrow points to the Kaaba; keep the phone flat and away from metal, and move it in a figure 8 if it seems wrong.

    Will it call the adhan?

A web page cannot play the adhan when it is closed. Tap Add to my calendar (.ics) and your phone's calendar gives an alert at each prayer time.

Is it private? Does it work offline?

Your places and settings stay in this browser on this device: no account, and your data is never sent anywhere. Searching for a city sends only the name you type to Open-Meteo. Once a place is saved, every time and the Qibla are worked out on your device with no connection.
