Recipe Scaler and Unit Converter
Cook a recipe for more or fewer people, in easy kitchen measures, and turn cups into grams or grams into cups.
1 Your recipe
Paste the ingredients from any recipe, one per line. Amounts like 1½ cups, 200 g, 2-3 cloves and ¼ tsp all work.
Lines with no amount (salt to taste) are kept as they are.
Not scaled. Oven temperatures get °C, °F and gas mark added.
2 How much to make
Servings, people, cookies or tins: use the same kind of number in both boxes.
Only 2 eggs, or one 400 g tin? Pick the ingredient and type how much you have.

Questions
How are the amounts rounded?
To measures you can actually scoop: cups in ¼ and ⅓ steps, tablespoons, and teaspoons down to ⅛. If one measure is within about 3% it is used (1⅓ cups instead of 1¼ cups + 1 tbsp), otherwise the amount is split, like 2 cups + 3 tbsp. Grams and ml are shown to the gram, or to the half gram under 10 g.
How many grams is a cup?
It depends on the ingredient: about 120 g of flour, 200 g of white sugar, 213 g of brown sugar, 227 g of butter and 340 g of honey. Choose Grams and ml and the app uses a typical weight for each ingredient it knows, marked with ≈. Liquids such as milk and water are shown in ml. If it does not know the ingredient it shows ml, which is always right.
Why are small amounts still in spoons in grams mode?
Kitchen scales are not accurate for 3 g of salt or baking powder, so amounts under about 2 tablespoons stay in teaspoons and tablespoons, like in metric cookbooks.
What do I do with part of an egg?
The app tells you, for example "Use 1 egg, plus 2 tbsp of another beaten egg". A large egg is about 3 tbsp (50 g) when beaten.
Does the cooking time change?
Not in the same way. A bigger batch in a bigger pan often needs a few more minutes, and a deeper cake tin needs longer at a slightly lower heat. Times in the method are never changed: check it is done the usual way.
Is it private?
Yes. There is no account. Your recipes stay in this browser on this device, and the app works offline once it has loaded.
