How does it decide whose turn it is?
Each ride goes to the family that has driven the fewest times so far and can drive that day, with enough seats for the children riding. If two families are level, the one who drove longest ago goes first. A family that already drove that day only drives again when nobody else is close. So over a term every family drives about the same.
One family can only drive in the mornings. Is that fair?
Tap the afternoons they cannot drive in their box and the rota never gives them one. They may end up with fewer drives, which "Drives so far" shows. Turn on fuel cost sharing and the families who drove more are paid back by the others.
We swapped, or a child is off sick. What do I change?
In the week, tap Change driver on that ride and pick who drives instead, or Who is riding and untick the child. The rota counts the swap, so the family who drove extra drives less in the following days.
What about holidays and a family going away?
Add the holiday in No school days, or tap Mark no school on one day in the week. For a family on holiday, tap Away dates in their box: they do not drive and their children do not ride on those days.
A new family is joining after half term.
Add them with the day they start. They start level with the family that has driven least, so they do not have to drive every day to catch up.
We all have our own phones. How do we share it?
One parent keeps the rota and taps Copy this week or Share this week to post it in the parents' group chat, or prints it. To move the rota to another phone, use Save a backup file and Restore a backup.
Is it private? Does it work offline?
The names stay in this browser on this device: no account, and your data is never sent anywhere. Once loaded, the app works with no connection.
