Does it lock the tablet or TV?
No. It is a timer for you, the parent: tap Start when a child begins and Stop when they hand the screen back. That way it works for any screen (tablet, phone, TV, games console, computer) and needs nothing installed on the child's device. The app shows the time left, warns you before it runs out, and says "Time is up" when it does.
What if I lock my phone or close the page?
The time keeps counting. The app saves the moment you tapped Start, so when you open it again it shows the right time left, or how long they have gone over. The beep only plays while this page is open (another tab is fine on most phones and computers), so keep it open near you at screen time.
I forgot to tap Stop. What now?
Tap Stop, then Today's sessions and Edit on that session to type when it really ended. Forgot to tap Start? Use Add time by hand, such as 30 minutes at a friend's house. A session is never counted as longer than a day.
How do school days, weekends and holidays work?
Each child has their own time for school days and for weekends. You choose which days are the weekend (Saturday and Sunday at first, or for example Friday and Saturday). On a holiday tap Make today a holiday so everyone gets their weekend time; on a Saturday with school, tap Make today a school day.
What happens at midnight?
Every day starts fresh with that day's time. If a session runs past midnight, the minutes before midnight count for the old day and the minutes after for the new day. Bonus minutes are for that day only.
Is it private? Does it work offline?
Your children's names and times stay in this browser on this device: no account, and your data is never sent anywhere. Once loaded, the app works with no connection. To move it to another phone, use Save a backup file and Restore a backup.
